The CJE St-Laurent offers many projects enabling you to get involved in your community. Whether it be a punctual or medium term implication, are put in place to give you the opportunity to have good volunteer experiences.

Vélogik (Bicycle mechanics workshop)

All while discovering bicycle mechanics, you will have the opportunity to develop different professional skills, as well as receiving guidance for your integration to the job market in an environment simulating a work environment. You will notably:

  • Learn about community engagement
  • Develop good job search techniques
  • Develop rigorous soft skill and know-how
  • Acquire more knowledge and professional skills

Snow Brigade

This project will give you the chance to help a vulnerable population by offering a snow removal service so that people can leave their houses safely. You will also have the chance to:

  • Become sensitized to the issues faced by the ageing population
  • Get involved in you community
  • Develop a feeling of belonging to the Laurentian community
  • Develop professional skills that can be used in your future job

Green Brigade

During the summer period, you will have the opportunity to get initiated to urban agriculture under the supervision of horticulture specialists and to get involved in an environmental project. You notably have the opportunity to :

  • Do concrete actions to contribute to local organic production
  • Learn more on environmental issues
  • Develop healthy life habits and environment-related skills
  • Develop professional skills that can be used in your future job

Punctual volunteer activities

During the whole year, you will have the opportunity to take part in different volunteer activities helping vulnerable communities and develop new professional skills. You will notably:

  • Apply your creative ideas through Halloween activities offered to Laurentian families
  • Encourage dialogue and exchange between different generations by taking part in an intergenerational podcast
  • Exploit your artistic skills to offer your thoughts to old people that are socially socially isolated
  • Take part in the making of a dance video, starting from the creation of the choreography all the way to the interpretation of the dance
